Stars Salute the Soldiers

Actor Riteish Deshmukh and filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar were among the first to react. They both took to X to show their support for the Indian armed forces.“Jai Hind Ki Sena… Bharat Mata Ki Jai!!! #OperationSindoor,” wrote Deshmukh, showing his pride in the military’s action.

In a statement released by the Defence Ministry at 1:44 AM, the operation was called “focused, measured, and non-escalatory in nature.” According to news agency PTI, the targets included the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) headquarters in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s (LeT) base in Muridke. The airstrikes were carried out in response to the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which took the lives of 26 innocent civilians, sparking national outrage and sorrow.
